Bridgwater RRBC is located adjacent to junction 24 on the M5 motorway. It comprises a major livestock market to serve the region, a new Robert Wiseman Dairy with a throughput of 8 million litres of milk per week and agricultural related businesses.
Sean has advised Mead Realisations on the transport implications of this project since 2004 when he was at Capita Symonds. Since joining KTC Sean has continued to advise on the project as development parcels have been released. Sean was responsible for preparation of the transport elements of the required Transport and Environmental Assessments and was assisted by David who undertook necessary junction capacity analysis on junction 24 of the M5 together with major junctions on the A38. Proposals include a major upgrade of the Huntworth Roundabout on the A38 including introduction of traffic signal control and widening the circulatory carriageway to 4 lanes.
Outline planning permission was secured in the second half of 2005 and reserved matters approval of the livestock market and dairy was secured in June 2006.
Peter has also been involved in the project and was successful in amending the proposed signal controlled access design within the application red line boundary to avoid service diversions that would have cost in excess of £300,000.
