Acting for Cubex KTC has been providing transport advice on a major development located in the centre of Bristol.
Finzels Reach is 1.9 hectare mixed use development site located on a former brewery in the centre of Bristol. The £250 million development includes a 168 bed hotel, 437 apartments, and 22,000m2 of offices.
The development also includes the new Castle Bridge linking the site to Castle Park to the north. The bridge has been laid out to provide sufficient clearance to harbour vessels, and to provide an accessible route between the site and Castle Park, some 5m higher than the site. This was achieved by curving the bridge over 91m in order to keep a shallow slope. Among more general transport advice on the project KTC advised on visibility requirements at the bridge for rowers.
Castle Bridge was formally opened in April 2017.
