KTC was retained by United Communities Housing Associates to provide transport advice on a proposed redevelopment of the Alexandra Park Car Park in Fishponds, Bristol. The site had long been a car park but was considered surplus to requirements by Bristol City Council. The development provided self-contained studio accommodation for 34 people. Residents are a mix of students from poorer backgrounds eligible for assistance with accommodation and young people ‘moving on’ from supported accommodation. The development is free. The site is located within the heart of Fishponds Town Centre and within walking distance of a full range of services, therefore enjoys excellent accessibility by non-car modes of transport. LaunchPad opened in 2019.
