Graduate Transport Planner Position

As a result of a recent promotion, Key Transport Consultants is seeking an enthusiastic Graduate Transport Planner to join, in Autumn 2021, a highly experienced and close-knit team, based in our Berkeley Square, Bristol office.

The Role:

  • Assist in the preparation of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans to support planning applications for a range of land uses.
  • To prepare location figures and vehicle swept path drawings using AutoCAD and AutoTrack to accompany reports.
  • To develop an ability to use junction capacity software.
  • To develop a familiarity with transport planning guidance to assist with highway design drawings.
  • To input transport data using Excel and analyse findings in the form of reports.
  • To attend site visits with a colleague.
  • Any other duties reasonably requested.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have graduated recently with a Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering degree or closely related discipline.

Proficiency in MS Word and Excel is essential. Experience using GIS and AutoCAD is beneficial. A willingness to develop AutoCAD and junction capacity software skills is essential.

You will be a motivated and hard-working individual with overall interest in transport planning and a willingness to learn from an experienced team. You will have excellent time management and organisational skills, demonstrating the ability to work to a deadline. Good written and oral communication and listening skills are essential, indicating ability to deliver work in accordance with a brief. You must have good people and teamwork skills and be able to work closely with all team members. Using initiative whilst working independently is also essential.

The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop their career with a part time sponsored MSc on offer, subject to performance.  Development towards a professional qualification will also be encouraged.  Non UK citizens will need to demonstrate their right to work in England.
